by Mohammad Mehedi Hossain

The poster highlights the results of a pre-and post-workshop survey conducted during the International Buffalo Workshop 2024 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, assessing the effect of the workshop in participants’ perceptions about buffalo farming, product chains, and diseases. Key findings include government support for high-yielding breeding, the establishment of an advisory committee, and reserving coastal areas for buffalo farming. Participants also emphasized the need for permanent shelters, clean water, feed, and veterinary support. Overall, the workshop positively influenced participants’ views, particularly regarding buffalo farming in water-abundant regions and the creation of a separate value chain for buffalo products to boost economic profitability.
